SHE'S A KEEPER!

Hello everyone,
Amber's been awake longer so it has been fun being able to look into her eyes and talk to her. She makes the funniest faces which keeps us laughing. Her hair is getting a little blonder and her eyebrows are filling in. We look forward to her out-growing this "gassy" stage. When she does I will be able to get out more and not feel so house bound.
Next Thur. I am flying to Michigan for 2 weeks to introduce her to my family. We can't wait!

SHE'S 3 WEEKS TODAY!

Hello everyone,
Amber went to the dr. Friday. She weighs 6.10 pds. and is in the 25th percentile range so she is normal but on the small side. The dr. said mountain babies are small and she will be. She has had gas but we feel it is lessening in intensity which is a relief. She wants to be held a lot which is making me an expert multi-tasker. My sister Laurie hopes to fly out here July 1-5 which we look forward to.
That's all for now!

TODAY'S PICTURES...

Hi guys,

We went to the chiropractor this morning and Amber and I got adjusted. Her neck is really tight and my hip was out so he adjusted both. I know the photo of her sucking her fingers is out of focus but she kept closing her eyes with the flash. Isn't it cute though? She can really cram her fingers in her mouth.

ED'S DIAPER CHANGING COMMENTS...

Hi again!
Ed has been a real trooper changing the diapers with a gusto I have not seen in a new father.
I crack up when I hear him in the bathroom with the things that come out of his mouth. Here are a few examples: "Sweet mother of Pearl!"....."P.U - that would wake me up to!"....."You must feel good about that load"....."I love a challenge, yes I do" sung to her....."You don't see many loads like that!"
Stay tuned for more humorous remarks.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Hello everyone,

Sunday we enjoyed a relaxing day at home grilling burgers and catching some sun. Amber and Frasier took naps in the shade, while Ed sipped on a beer and I dreamed of Margaritas. Amber has been keeping our nights busy lately with gas. To watch a little baby struggle and be in pain and there is nothing you can do about it really tugs at your heart. Hopefully she will out grow it soon. Friday we have a pediatrician appointment and I am curious as to how much she weighs. Speaking of weight, I went to my Dr. yesterday and I was thrilled to find out that I lost 19 of the 20 pds. I had gained! I am going to go for 13 more to bring me back to a weight from years ago. Between the nursing and high altitude I shouldn't have a problem. It's finally warm here so we can get outside and enjoy the weather.

Have a great week!

DAY 6 AND SHE'S STILL ADORABLE!

Hello everyone,

We have had fun watching Amber smile and make funny faces.

She continues to be an easy baby to figure out and stays content so we are off to a great start. Ed has the diaper changing down to a finely tuned science done in record time. I feel like I am watching a Jiffy Lube commercial. She will be a well photographed baby so keep checking back here for more photos.

AMBER REEVES DORAY IS HERE!

Hello everyone,

Amber arrived Monday, June 4 at 1 pm. She is gorgeous, laid back and very sweet. She reminds me of an Anne Geddes baby model with her fine features and qualities. Amber weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces and is 18.75 inches long. Lastnight we had a b-day party in the hospital room and enjoyed some great cake with our friends, my sister and the nurses. The room was decorated in a festive manner and I drank water out of a margarita glass (afterall, margaritas are what got me here!). We came home today and it feels good to be out of the hospital noise and to settle in to our new home life. Thanks to everyone for their love and support! We are thrilled to finally have Amber here.

THE FINAL LEG!

Hello everyone,
Today I am going to relax, get some last minute laundry and cleaning done and enjoy the day. I bought a new webcam and the difference in quality is amazing. Yesterday I went to the hospital to fill out the paperwork and found out that I have gained 20 pounds total so I am happy with that. It ought be relatively easy to lose as long as I keep eating healthy. Everyone I have spoken to at the hospital seem very friendly which is nice. And the hospital being one month old is also a great feeling. We still need to buy balloons and a cake for the party Tuesday but other than that we are all set! We will upload a few photos to this blog and email more photos through Shutterfly. Check back to the blog Monday evening to meet the newest Doray! ***Who, by the way might not be named Emma afterall. We want to meet her and see if that fits. If not we will see what feels right.***
Love,
Julie
